Pubcos: a good first step but more to do

None of these codes of practice makes any change to the grotesque imbalance of power that lies in the landlord tenant relationship.

This imbalance of power, and the abuse of that power, has left Britain's pubs dead and boarded up from Lands End to John O Groats. Over the last twenty years Communities nationwide have lost their key social hubs as pubs have closed and been converted to residential or into supermarkets 'Local'.

Codes of practice are nothing more than window dressing by pubcos designed to impress people who understand policy implementation not practical application of change.
