RE: Cornish brewer hit with £9k beer duty bill

http://www.morningadvertiser.co.uk/forum.ma/SaveGenericPost/95531

It's a beer just like 'fruit tea' isn't tea. Bloody ridiculous. HMRC ought to be looking into tax avoidance further up the brewing ladder than with a fermented nettle drink.

Anyone got any suggestions on how to calculate how much the British tax payer subsidises the pub industry, and pubcos mainly, through family tax credits being granted to publicans who are on their uppers?

So many pubs are on their last legs it just HAS to be in the tens of £millions.
