Festive takings fall for 51% of pubs

Fascinating. Anyone bothered to take a glance at the streetscape of the UK? By and large the pubs that are left unboarded are either sole operators on their last legs (these are the pubs that look like they SHOULD be shut down before they fall down) or are owned by groups (the pubs that have been painted sometime in the last ten years).
