Health campaign to highlight 'unseen' damage of alcohol

http://www.thepublican.com/story.asp?sectioncode=7&storycode=66271

This is the bit we should be focusing on: "... official figures out today also showed that the UK is drinking less - and more people are choosing to drink at home instead of going to the pub."

IF this is accurate it shows government policy on reducing alcohol consumption is working and the alarmist headline grabbing stuff about the woes drinking is bringing on the nation is possibly not as grounded in fact as many like to suggest. As to why more people are choosing to drink at home... and what this might do long term to reverse the current trend of downward consumption we can only wait for more research to reveal. Time was when many people felt awkward about drinking at home because it suggested an unsavoury habit might be forming.
