Pub groups meet to discuss BEC

This frankly is breathtaking. At least they are meeting up to talk though it's a struggle to imagine what exactly they might come up with which will stem the tide against them.

The reassuring thing to say is that the pubcos who have not abused the tie have nothing to lose - this is a zeitgeist moment of change and the companies who have not taken advantage of their superior position over tenants - the people who pay the board's wages and bonuses - will see their companies prosper, as their tenants are not in revolt and not going to the wall, while those who have abused the relationship of mutual trust, effort and benefit that the tie could offer if adminstered responsibly, will fail because of their own short sightedness.
