I smoke but I've never liked the after effects of smoke in bars or indoors at home. Irrespective of anything to do with economics of personal freedoms being impinged upon, I've longed for a smoking ban because I always thought it would improve my quality of life. The thought of the smoking ban, quite frankly scared me. BUT I'm lucky enough for it not to have affected my trade too much, although I spent forty grand of my own borrowings ameliorating the likelihood that my pub would be abandoned by smokers. And it wasn't. I haven't got the forty grand back, and I never will, but I'm still in business. JUST.
