Michael says he's always liked uniforms; so he wears it whenever he can. The helmet is metal, it's Russian but he bought it thinking it was American.

Yes he lives in at the Maudsley. He's nice. He comes to the pub and drinks a tankard of iced water through a straw and smokes a couple of cigarettes on the forecourt once or twice a week. We do table service for him.

That's one of the things pubs are about... Community.

And looking through my photos around the time Pepe was performing here's someone else from the pub who I'd forgotten about although at the time Michael was a fixture and we looked after him when he needed to be looked after. He was never any trouble to anyone and told us that he loved the pub and all of us for being kind.
