RE: Entrepreneur to speak at BII annual lunch

Luke Johnson will be talking mainly about all the things that are out of reach of most publicans. No doubt there will be some thought at BII towers that Luke's past as the head of a highly successful franchise operation is akin, as various disingenuous pubco CEOs would have the world believe, to the relationship their own companies share with pub leaseholders. Still, those of us who can afford the day off and the week's wages to pay for the lunch will surely benefit from the rub off his personality provides.

Not sure about this but seem to recall Johnson and Hugh Osmond ditching franchising in favour of an expanding directly managed estate. Ho hum.
