There has been a lot of news about adults being refused alcohol at supermarket check outs because they've had a youngster with them. On the face of it that looks rather like supermarkets are treating the issue of underage sales very seriously.

Frankly I like Sainsbury's and Tesco and Asda and Lidl and Aldi and Waitrose and Co-op. And local butchers, fishmongers, bakers and grocers. And Oddbins and some independent wine merchants.

Some people will drink too much, behave badly and cause trouble whatever society does to try to kerb their actions. People who do break norms of socially acceptable behaviour ought to be apprehended and dealt with using existing law, forced into community work and educational programmes for their redirection.
