Nothing complicated here then, so, it's settled. There's nothing going wrong with pubs in the UK. It's just the thousands of people who have no vision and are unable to invest that leads to pubs closing down all over the country. Nothing systemic. Nothing to do with pubcos taking the profit at every level in the industry. No. Just loads of people running pubs who don't know what they are doing. What a relief. Glad this came up now, so tomorrow, when I meet the Competition Commissioner, I'll have a much better, more upbeat story to tell than the one intended.
