Good to see that Whitbread's commitment to being industry leaders in training and in mid range quality, along with a certain pile it high and flog it cheap philosophy, never wavers. They were an early Investors In People status company.

Some twenty odd years ago their then Company Secretary took me to one of their highest profile venues for dinner to ask me why, following Whitbread getting its IIP badge, are our staff catatonic, completely without personality and totally uninterested in what they are doing?
