The answer really is that no normal standards or benchmarks apply when considering the paper performance of pubcos. Pubcos are generally run by bean counters. Human capital means nothing to them. They are guided and driven only by increasing numbers and financial performance. How that's perceived from the outside is of no consequence to them; the figures speak for themselves. The company makes a great return. Nothing else matters.
