Of course BBPA and pubcos will regard this as a fine example of a free trade pub closing which supports their assertion that tied model is robust and vibrant and more secure than free trade. Fact is this was bought by a small property development company from conqueror about nine years ago for next to nothing with the sole intention of making sure it would get change of use years down the line. Their various planning applications to knock it down have all been rejected and I guess they've evangelicalised it to get a hands off income from it.
