My rent is 54K; rates 29K my beer prices three times higher than I could get if I were not tied. An Other pub, less than two miles away, same size, leased, free of tie, way better demographics (my pub is smack in between two of the most deprived wards in Britain), rates payable half mine, buying beer at a third of the price I pay. How much is the rent? 58K. And I have a rent review three years outstanding that has already cost 30K and is not resolved. If I lose in the end, their costs so far? About 50K Back rent? 40K. Whatever.
